Barano è un comune che si trova a sud-ovest dell’Isola di Ischia. È formato da tante colline che declinano verso la grande spiaggia dei Maronti. Nel corso dei secoli frane e smottamenti hanno creato dei canyon che in alto permettono di ammirare panorami mozzafiato, mentre in basso conducono verso diverse sorgenti termali come Cavascura, Olmitello e la fonte di Nitrodi.
