Data guard

The Data Guard maintains the standby database by transmitting and applying redo data from the primary database. If the primary database becomes unavailable, then you can use Data Guard to switch or fail over the standby database to the primary role. The standby databases in OCI are physical standbys.

Data guard. Perform a Data Guard switchover to the new environment so that applications use the database on the new environment. A minimal period of downtime will occur during the switchover. Allow Data Guard to ship and apply redo to the original database. If issues arise, execute a Data Guard switchover to return to the original configuration.
