Malaysia’s 15th general election (GE15) witnessed an emerging trend which saw candidates hiring account-based influencers to run political advertisements on their platforms. They tweeted and retweeted the candidates’ tweets about their political messaging and their campaign activities such as walkabouts and speeches.
